Thornwick: A Medieval Tale
- Action RPG
- Third person
- Single player
- Plays in your browser
- Free account
Arrive in a village at the edge of an old curse. Take up a sword and shield or a bow, run errands for the villagers, brew and trade, and uncover what sleeps in Castle Valdemar.
Everything you see and hear is made by code the moment the game loads: the stone, the stained glass, the weather, even the music.
-
Fight with timing
Three-hit combos, blocks, shield bashes and dodge rolls. Tap block just before a blow lands to parry, then strike back for big damage. Lock on to a foe and keep your eye on the stamina bar.
-
Knight or ranger
Choose a sword and shield, or a bow you draw and aim yourself. A steady full draw hits hardest, and a foe that has not noticed you takes double.
-
A valley that lives
Days turn to nights, the seasons change, and rain, storms and fog roll through. Wolves prowl the hills, and the villagers keep to their own routines.
-
Quests, crafting and trade
Keep a journal of jobs, gather herbs, brew draughts and oils, have a relic set in your blade, and try your luck at dice in the tavern.
-
Saves that follow you
Playing needs a free account: a name, an email address (we send a code to confirm it) and a password, then you choose your avatar. It keeps up to five journeys, and you can pick them up from any browser.
-
Built from code
No asset packs and nothing to install. Every texture, model, sound and note of music is generated as the game starts, so it opens fast and stays small.
Wildflower meadows and broken walls Night falls and the windows glow Pine hills and a quiet pool Dusk over the village square Highspire, the hidden castle in the mountains
What you need: a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a computer with a keyboard and a mouse or trackpad, and a graphics card that supports WebGL2. If it runs slowly, press G in the game to lower the graphics quality.
